VIDEO: “People Are Trying To Shoot The Messenger Not The Message” says Falz

This Is Nigeria video released by comic rapper, Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz, has continued to create a steer in the country.

The rapper has received some backlashes as well as applauds from Nigerians far and wide.

Recall that an Islamic group, MURIC, had given an ultimatum to the singer to recall the video or risk facing the law. Meanwhile, according to an online newspaper, Premium Times, Falz’s management has indicated that it would be recalling the video.

In an interview with BBC, Falz revealed the reason why he decided to release the video saying “It was important to do”.

He further added that he intended to steer up a heightened level of political and social conscientiousness.

Asked if he expected some backlash, Falz said yes. However, it is evident that people are trying to shoot the messenger and not the message.

He also added that there was no reason to seek Childish Gambino‘s consent on the video as it was simply a cover.
