It is my esteemed pleasure to introduce the prolific talent, Afro-folk singer/songwriter Blessing Tangban.
An artist with a perfect blend of raw, pure, introspective, and emotionally stirring Afro- folk melodies. Her style of music is organic and geared towards expressing music in its most natural form. Her soothing and melodic vocals as well as her illustrative songwriting blend perfectly with her guitar accompaniment to deliver an experience that is truly magical.
Born and Raised in Cross River state, Nigeria, the self-taught guitarist, started her career in music, singing with a girl group called ‘Glorious voices’. At the age of 15 she moved to the USA to begin her tertiary education at Southern University at New Orleans where she also began her professional career in music.
Given her mind blowing artistic presentation, Blessing Tangban has performed in various concerts and musical festivals in Africa and around the world including the world famous Calabar Carnival in Nigeria, the Cross River state Miss Africa Beauty Pageant, she also participated in the composing and production of the new Calabar Carnival theme song produced by one of Nigeria’s ace music producers’ Cohbams Asukwo, alongside others acts like BankyW, Iyanya, Sammie Okposo and was distinctively the only Nigerian to headline in the 2017 Splashy Fen music festival in South Africa, The Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards, otherwise known as The SERAS CSR Awards Africa, Smyle Africa Music Festival to mention a few.
