As usual, this is always the norm for Nigerian record labels who have witnessed their artiste leaving them to establish their own imprint. To be honest, I expected this sooner than now but nevertheless, its here already.
News is, Kiss Daniel’s fomer label, G-Worldwide is taking him to court for intellectual property theft. This was made public via a statement that was released on behalf of G-Worldwide by its counsel.
The statement reveals that the singer has signed a 7 year recording and artist management contract with the label in 2013 but has obviously bridged his contract by appointing a new manager while making bookings and entering performance agreements without the label’s permission.
This is coming a few weeks after the Sofa singer announced and flagged his own imprint, FLYBOY Inc. The singer had also hinted a possible collabo with MOBO Award winner, Wizkid, that which his former label (G-Worldwide) would naturally not let him do.
