Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, but now based in London, Mohammed Animashun – otherwise known as Moelogo – is the sound of two worlds colliding. Inspired by the Afrobeat sounds of his first home and Nigerian artists such as Fela Kuti and King Sunny Adé, as well as the modern R&B, nu-soul and dancehall he heard after touching down in the UK, Moelogo’s music is an uplifting, sun-dappled mix of his past and present.
Working with rising producer Bayoz Muzik, his lilting yet lyrically incisive tracks are reaching more and more people. To celebrate the release of his Ìréti EP, we asked Moelogo in to perform an exclusive live session as part of RedBull.com/Music showcase series “See. Hear. Now”.
