MUSIC: Greo – So Long

Greo is an Alternative HipHop Artiste from Benin City. He released Soul Therapy EP in 2012 which featured Boogey, Fame, Mofame, Duno etc. He has also worked with the Likes of Lord V, Paybac and McSkill Tha Preacher. Oral Tradition was the medium information, Legends,folklore were passed from generations to generations by ancient Griots. Greo which was dubbed from the word “Griot” reenacts the art of story telling with this eccletic project “Oral Tradition”. This is a conceptual album which tells the story of a Sojourner who goes on a journey against all odds to achieve what He desires. He has to struggle with the constraints that comes along with the quest. How will He Cope with the Pressure from Family, Society, Belief, Religion, Faith and Love?

The album samples a variety of African Sounds which includes afrobeat, folk and Hi-Life and boasts of solid production provided by Benyjo, Andre Vibez who produced Victor Uwaifo’s Kirikisi that featured Iceprince. ChocoJay who produced Jegede for Terry Tha Rapman. South South Music Award Best Producer nominees Michael Excel and Eboy.

Greo previously released Gra Gra, My Lady and Wa Gunu as Singles respectively and Here is ‘So Long’ from Greo’s album Oral Tradition which was released today, It captures the story of a man tired of living average and decides to seek greener pastures abroad leaving his wife and daughter. The song talks about how the man, his wife and daughter are affected. This track was produced by Eboy.
