Former governor of Lagos State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has stated that General Muhammadu Buhari is the right man to lead Nigeria into a new era.
He said Nigerians have been warned not to fall into the deceit and lies of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as they have nothing to offer the country again.
Tinubu disclosed this on Tuesday in Abeokuta during the party’s presidential rally in the state. He revealed that the present challenges facing the country can only be tackled by former military man, Buhari, who has the wherewithal to proffer solutions to the problems.
He said the party has provided the country with a dynamic and competent nationalist, who is determined to perform.
According to the Jagaban of Borgu, “We have brought a competent and dynamic nationalist to the good people of Ogun state. We present to you General Muhamed Buhari and Prof Osinbajo as presidential flag bearers of APC in the forthcoming general election. They bring with them experience and competence.
“Any country facing challenges like Nigeria, need problem solvers. When America was in trouble they chose an ex-Military General, when Britain was challenged they looked for Sir Wiston Churchill, now that Nigeria is challenged in economy, security, commerce, industries and agriculture there is only man that can do the job and that is General Muhammed Buhari, an ex military man.
“Buhari was a great man and a very simple man, he has the determination and ability to perform,” Tinubu stated.
The former Lagos State governor however advised the opposition party to base their campaign on issues that affects the country and not to insult Buhari, noting that, “but if they want, it should not be General Muhammadu Buhari or military institution.”
Tinubu also stated that having contested thrice for the presidential seat, Buhari was begged to contest again.
He chided the PDP led government for their deceit, asking the people not to believe the President who after six years in office had failed but is now lying to create two million jobs annually, if given another chance.
“PDP government has failed us, in the last 16 years of their leadership and also six years of Jonathan administration he cannot secure employment for the youths.
“Just yesterday in Abeokuta, he promised 10 million jobs for young graduates. How can someone that spent six years in government and did not achieve anything now promise 10 million jobs within 4 years?.
“The PDP family lies and they have failed Nigerians, Jonathan has confessed to Nigeria that he has nothing to offer us. Six years of Jonathan’s apprenticeship, has totally failed us,” Tinubu submitted.
He urged the good people of Ogun to vote massively for General Buhari and Prof Osinbajo during the presidential election on 14 February as well other offices under the platform of APC.
