To do this, you will need to download a free tool from microsoft called the windows 7 USB/ DVD download tool. Do not worry that Windows 7 is in the name. Though it is originally designed for use as a way of getting a windows 7 ISO onto a flash drive, but it also works perfectly fine for windows 8 and windows 8.1 ISO images.

The name of the file you will be downloading is Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-US.exe, it is 2.6MB in size and comes from wudt.codeplex.com. if what you see if not as same as this then you have click wrong thing.
With the help of this program, over the next several steps, we will get the flash drive properly formatted and the windows 8 installation files properly copies to it. Once complete you will be able to use this flash drive to install windows 8 or windows 8.1
Important:
While it may be tempting to try, you can not just copy the contents of the ISO file, nor the ISO file itself, to the flash drive and expect to boot from it and install windows 8. It is a little more complicated than that, thus the existence of this too.
