Akinwunmi Akinwoye known professionally as KAPTAIN MJ is a Nigerian born Singer,Songwriter & Music Producer.
He rose to stardom as a band leader of the group X Project formed in 2000 along side Aziz Kamara (Slez), and Salieu Sindi (Saal) both who are Sierra Leoneans. KAPTAIN MJ was formally known as Majeed in the group.
The versatile and accomplished KAPTAIN MJ achieved success with X project with multiple awards like Nigeria Music Award (Song of the Year)2008, Kora Music Award Nomination (Best contemporary song of the year)2008/2009 to mention a few.
In 2011 He parted ways with X Project to begin a solo career. He is here with a brand new single titled “BOBBU”
