Police arrest robbers who raped pastor’s daughter

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four robbers who dispossessed a clergy of two cars and raped his daughter.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Sam Okaula, said the clergy reported the robbery at the Sanyo Police Division on July 21, a day after the incident.

Okaula said, “The pastor reported that around 11.45pm, four armed robbers jumped into his compound and ordered him to open the door which he did at gun point. They ordered those in the house to lie down while they gathered valuable items.

“A Sony laptop, one Samsung I-pad, three mobile telephones, six wrist watches, N200,000 and other valuables were stolen from the house.

“A blue Toyota car with number plate, MK382 AAA, and a Mercedes Benz, marked, GGE 278 CK, were taken away.

“His daughter was also raped by one of the suspected robbers.”

The commissioner said investigation by the police led to the arrest of Afolabi Oluwatobi (24), Morakinyo Olufemi (43), Ayodele Ademola (55) and Azeez Rafiu (27).

He added that efforts were ongoing to recover the valuables stolen by the suspects.

The rapist among the gang members, Ademola, said he was there with two others and that it was his first time of taking part in robbery. He admitted that he was the one who raped the girl.

He said, “I live in Ilesa and I sell gravel. I have never worked in Ibadan before. This is my first time of robbing anyone in my life. I was introduced to the game by a man who did not go with us on the day of the operation. I met the rest of the gang in a motor park. I raped a young girl during the operation.”
